Caffeine Causes Acne?

One of the most common yet highly unknown causes of acne is caffeine. For some reason, the connection between caffeine and acne seems to be kept some-what of a secret, maybe because the profits for selling unnecessary acne products is so high that its better to keep us in the dark about things like this?
Anyway, you know all those "secret revealing" acne e-books I review? Well, caffeine's relation to acne is one of those big secrets. Here are some facts I have learned in my research:
Caffeine effects women more strongly than men. This is because the stimulant causes a hormonal imbalance, causing symptoms like PMS, mood swings, low energy, etc.
In multiple research studies, women who drank caffeine on a daily basis had a 40% higher chance of having acne than non-caffeine drinkers
Caffeine is proven to directly effect PMS symptoms - which is evidence that hormones are severely altered and thrown out of balance, which is the #1 leading cause of acne.
The higher the caffeine intake, the higher and faster the production of the stress hormone, cortisol, this hormone is directly connected to the production of the acne-causing bacteria, sebum, and is what makes stress the #2 leading cause of acne.
Being a stimulant, caffeine directly stimulates sebaceous glands to produce excess sebum. This quickly leads to clogged pores and break-outs!
Caffeine causes toxicity within the bloodstream and the liver, making it harder for the body to filter out harmful acne-causing bacteria!
How much caffeine do YOU drink each day? Do YOU have acne? Avoiding caffeine probably won't make your skin perfectly clear, especially right at first, but drinking it will only make it more difficult to keep those break-outs under control. Besides, there are several other great reasons not to drink caffeine - its one of the most addictive chemicals and it is extremely unhealthy for your circulatory, endocrine, and nervous systems.
There is no one "magic" cure for acne, the treatment and solution to acne comes from a combination of healthy life choices. Drink water! It will make you feel great and give you healthy, glowing, skin. In my opinion this is one of the simplest things you can do in order to maintain clear skin. Or, if you absolutely have to have your caffeine, switch from coffee or soda to green tea. That way you're still getting your daily stimulant shot, but getting lots of helpful antioxidants as well.
